Okay, how about fence post puller.

I was trying to remove some locust fence posts this afternoon and couldn't get them to budge. I put a tow strap on one and pulled it out with my '83 300 D. No problem and the tires didn't even spin. Unfortunately 3/4 of the post that was below ground snapped off, which limits its reuse to shorties.

I sometimes use my beater car to haul trash up the drive or run wheels for new tires next door- I call it my 3 litre diesel wheel barrow!

Oh, and firewood from the pile closer to the back door!

Robby,

I once was enlisted by my Father to help take down some telephone poles. Neighbor had a tractor, length of chain, and rim from rear tractor wheel (big). We'd put the chain around the pole as low down as possible and hitch it tight. Then the rim would go under the chain, to redirect the force into the upward direction. Hook up the chaing to the tractor, pull the pole out of the ground no problem. I think we tied a rope to the middle or top to contol the direction of fall.

RMOAS. At one time I was looking at pickup trucks and wandered into the Toyota dealer. The salesman told me how a recent customer of his had bought one and then entered into a tug-of-war with his mom's Chevy pickup (with mom driving the Chev). Allegedly the Toyota pulled the bumper off the Chevy.

I was mesmerized, imagining this guy going home and hollering, "Hey Maw! I just bought this here new rice-burner! Bet it's stronger than your Chevy -- let's find out!"
