A Pennsylvania State Trooper damaged the chrome trim strip on the driver's door lower plastic molding of my wife's 1992 300CE while attempting to change a flat tire. He placed the jack under the jack pad instead of in the side rail hole ... one of the dumber stunts I have seen in my life. Anyway, what is the proper technique for removing and replacing this chrome strip? I ordered a new one and prefer to install it myself, but certainly don't want to cause any more damage in the process.
