Brakes worked fine then all of a sudden pedal goes to the floor. Still have stopping power. Leave work brakes fine for a day or two, then pedad to the floor.

Reolaced master cyl. ang gravity blead the system. Was leaking at the rear (plunger area Leaking into the booster unit.

How does the booster unit play into this and is there antyhing I missed?

The booster boosts the power of the hydraulic system between the pedal an dthe caliper pistions. If there isn't too much fluid still in the booster, you should be fine.

Gravity bled? Not even pump halfway and hold?

I'd recommend trying to get the fluid out of the booster.

Vince,

Last time I renewed the brake fluid in my car, I tried the gravity drain method, and it really worked well. No pumping the pedal, no assistant required. Also, no risk of putting the pedal to the floor and destroying the seals in the master cyclinder when they encounter part of the bore not normally used and covered with corrosion.

Tom;
Your cofronted with 2 problems; the master cylinder rear seal leaking fluid into the Power booster;
The fluid in the booster damaging the booster seal.
You're going to have to rebuild or replace both of these.
Your life is dependant on both of these, don't skemp.
