Unless you need to replace a 500E500 specific part, factory maintenance isn't much different than that of an E420.

I would echo Mr. Liem's comments. There are certain parts that are e500/e specific parts such as the headlight covers, engine parts, suspension that will require you to locate e500/e parts, but there is a noticable difference in the car such as the Sportline interior (could be done as well as the 400), handling, body features in addition to the 5 liter V8. Not to mention rarity and the chance to pick up something rare that you can use as a daily driver. The e500/e is a remarkable vehicle as it does most everything well, my car just turned over 100k and I threw some Michelin X-Ice's on the car and with the traction control, it is great for our Colorado winters. They all came fully equipped, with the only options being the CD changer and phone, thus has everything you need. Good luck on locating a nice example, as they are out there, although you may have to look outside your region. There are still original examples out there that have not been monkeyed with and a road trip to bring back your chosen car is worth it. Good luck! :D
