I know these mirrors are designed to just pull or snap off when under stress. My mirror has a lot of play in it from the base downwards. I thought perhaps it simply needs to be pushed back into its mounts but nothing changes it. I'm pretty certain something internally has broken. While driving, the movement is so severe that if I apply the brakes hard enough I can't see behind me. I do have access to a spare mirror but is it the mirror itself or is the problem at the attachment point above it? If I read correctly, if you put enough force on the mirror it will pull off. How difficult is it to put one back in? I want to make sure I know how long it will take before I start yanking things off!
