ML 320 rattle

I'm looking for a little help in tracking down an odd noise on my 130K ML. Its a rattle like a relay going off and on but really loud. It only happens when the car is in drive at a stop, at idle, about 600 RPMs. If in park or if the RPMs are over 700 the sound goes away.

Any suggestions?

What model year? Can you specify a potential area for the noise?
