Hello, I just registered to the chat site tonight, so forgive me if I am not posting in the correct location.

I just saw a 2003 ML 55 today at the local dealership, great shape, 26K miles and warranty. Great price to boot (39K, but "negotiable", as always) Upon reviewing, seems like a good deal. I am seriously debating trading in my 99 ML 430, as I've always wanted the ML 55. Anyone out there have a ML 55? Is it "all that"? Thanks for any input.

Hi I would not be so fast to give up your ML-430 one of the better early MLS ,very few engine problems if any and low on repairs compared to the other MLS during those few years. The fuel MPG are with in reason and there is great power in the 430.Joeym

The 2003 is a better car than the 1999. If you really want an ML55, it's a good choice, with all the bugs worked out (finally!) It IS a very fast SUV, but you definitely need to drive it to see if it's "all" in 'all that'.

I do plan to test-drive the 55 this weekend. My 430's got good power, but the warranty's expired, and at 103K miles, I just know something is going to happen eventually. We'll see how it goes, thx for the advice guys.

The one thing I do like about the older ML is the enourmous rearview mirrors, compared to the newer ones.

Hi I did not know you had 100k on your veh, before you make a decision on keeping the 99 I would have it gone over.I think its to late to get an extended warranty.Joeym

Yep, I had the extended warranty, but it expired at 100K. I know the car's in good shape, as it's always been serviced by the dealer, so I will (if I trade) get a good trade in value.
