Just a quick comment ..... I am the President of the Virginia Section and I noticed this new Forum. If I can assist any other section Persident, I will be happy to comment, offer advice or share my experiences and "opinions" (I probably have too many).
Please post your problems and challenges and I for one will be happy to help or share your pain.

Thank you for the offer, Jim! Do you have a copy of the "Leadership Manual" if not let me know. I have a cuple of extras.

You have the sharing the pain part correct. Out here in Idaho we have only 50 members, with roughly 5-6 active. I would be willing to bet that Idaho has the most Mercedes owners per capitia in the US. It amazes me driving down the road seeing all the Mercedes and that we can only pull 50 members. Oh well, we do the best we can with what we got, wait it out, and see what happens.

Jim,
I as recently volunteered to the presidency of the local Peachtree Section and pleased to see a familiar name here.

I'd be happy to assist any Section officers whose Section is having attendance problems. I am not a president, but am a membership chair. Our Central Oklahoma Section has 124 dues-paying members. Nearly 50% are active to the extent that they attend at least four events/meetings per year. Our average monthly meeting has about 25% of our membership in attendance.
While we have boosted participation with improved meetings, events, and activities, we have our problems, too. Paying membership is growing only VERY slowly. The number one reason I hear for not joining or not renewing is "I don't have enough time to participate." It's a problem we probably all have.
