Anyone have any helpful hints or advice on performing a steering idler arm repair on a 1985 300SD? There is nothing wrong with the handling of the car, but the part is noticably worn. I already have the parts on hand thanks to the previous owner.
Many Thanks,

Is it the one attached to the steering gear or the chassis?

select section 46 (second page)
subsection 500
I've done both.

Idler arm bushing repair kit is simple to install. 2-24mm wrenches will get it apart. Mind the orientation of the washers and/or shims.

IIRC www.mercedessource.com has an instruction sheet for this you can buy...or maybe they only offer it if you buy the part from them I'm not sure.
