I am transporting a 1951 170S from Statesboro, GA to Atlanta, GA this weekend (May 14, 2006). The car has undergone a complete restoration but is in need of some minor repairs and a check up. The car has been in the family for 28 years and is very special to us. Can anyone recommend a reliable shop in Atlanta that is trustworthy and performs premium work? If so please email me at perholtze@hotmail.com. Thank you so much!

I can highly recommend AutoBenz in Marietta, GA. Cy Chapman and his crew have worked on my Mercedes for years. They are a family owned business that is very honest. I have never had to send back any of my cars due to follow-on problems.
I know you will not be disappointed!
There phone number is 770-333-0119.

Cummins Automotive in Alpharetta (north of Atlanta) handles our 4 Benzes. Much better than any dealer experience, honest, thorough and great customer service.

I am not sure that any of ya'll looked at the car in questin here. None of the afore mentioned shops is qualified to, nor would they work on a 1951 170. There are very few people in the Atlanta area prepared to tackle that car. The only 2 places that I can think of that would even look at it would be Old World Automotive (404-550-8000) or German Auto Sales & Service (770-457-0056).

I have a 560SL and need to get some work done on it. I have failed emisssions and fear I may need to have the heads worked on. I am looking for someone that can give me an honest diagnosis and also do the work.
I simply don't have the time to tackle this right now. Does anyone have a recommendation in Acworth, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Marietta area? I will travel a little further if needed.
Thanks
Neil

Right close to the Big Chicken is Reliance Car Care, they do very good work and have been around for at least 25 years.
Rusty: thanks for the suggestion, but can you provide a street address, phone number and proprietor name? Skip

Three places.
Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead, ask to have your car worked on by either Alan Smith or Mark Miller. These two guys are excellent technicians, specializing in the older ('90's and older) Benz's.
Alex Automotive in Duluth/John's Creek area. Very capable and honest.
For paint and body work, Magnum Collision Repair in Kennesaw. Simply the best.
