Ignition points - mid-year change in '74

According to the online parts supply outlets, beginning at engine # 019174 for the SLC, the ignition points were switched from Bosch 1.237.013.142 to 1.237.013.128.

Does anyone know what the difference is for these two, and whether they're interchangeable?

Why bother with points these days . . .you can convert to breaker less ignition and be done with setting gap and dwell and hoping the transistor switching unit won't fail on you at some inopportune time . .
