temp. display

My outside temp display flickers than goes off, than on than off
is this the indicator under the front plate?..is there any way to know if is that or the LED?

GENERALLY, in my experience, if it is the probe, it still shows a temp - either very high or very low.

It's probably the temp. sensor... or you can test the LCD display by connecting a resistor across the connection and seeing if the display reads 70F or so..
