This seems to be pretty basic, but I can't seem to figure out how to adjust my hood release. It used to work fine, but the pull lever would not release both latches, by the time I got it open I had managed to break the lever off the rod inside next to the door. Any advice on adjustment and repairing the broken lever mount? Thanks!!!! - Steven

There are two adjustments: One to "synchronze" the two latches, and one to adjust the overall tension. At least, in my 87 and 91 126s.
The "synch" adjustment is in the engine compartment, about 18" behind the left headlight. Follow the bowden cable from the left latch back towards the fender, and you'll come across a long plastic "lump", and by unscrewing and tightening it you adjust the synch.
the overall adjustment is, I believe, down at the lever.
That lever comes off easily, one screw in the middle. I'd imagine the only way to repair it is to replace it. Dealer would definitely be able to get it.
Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks, Don! Do you know which way the adjustment works - which side does shortening the screw affect, which side lengthening the screw? - Steven
