View Full Version : 91 300E Speedometer Question

Seems my friends 300E has a speedometer that is fluctuating, reading slower and sometimes faster than actual. At low speeds it pulsates, also some "noise" that sounds like gears skipping. I thought this was an electronic connection or is that just the 126 body?
Any thoughts??

Sounds like a bad speedo cable, or maybe the speedo itself.

The speedometer also jumps in a very regular fashion
at slow speeds, and it seems to coincide with a very light "thump, thump,
thump" ing from what sounds like the left front wheel. Not sure if it's
coincidental, but wondered if maybe that sounds familiar to anyone???
