Since I live on a military installation, each housing unit is limited to 2 parking spots. I've managed to thieve curbspace to fit the "collection". What follows are the images of my wife's infinite patience with me.

Were reclining rear seats common on these?

Recent purchase, needs some work, but overall a great first classic. Simple car, great styling, inexpensive, absolutely no power. :)

That's in my "aspirational classic car" category. I'll cut my teeth on the diesel until more discretionary funding comes available. You're right, though -- great classic car. Someday...

Here is my 61 220S. I started with a 200D in 1983 and have been hooked on Mercedes since.

They were an option, not standard. I think only an option on the long wheel base "L" models. I would consider it "common" if over 75% of the cars had them. A lot did, but I don't know if it was that many. Maybe "popular" instead of "common"?

Family requirements have pushed me out of 2 seats and into 4. The SLK had to go. After several months of attempting to sell during a long New York winter, someone finally got a good car at a good price.
I did the same.
For anyone tracking "The Star" For Sale ads, Jim Moon had his W124 500E in two editions. After contacting him, we worked out a reasonable transaction. Thank you, Jim.
Compared to the SLK, I've got more collectibility, equal sale/purchase cost, two more seats, and performance to spare. Had I known about the W124 500E's before, I would have bought earlier.
Regardless, here I am with another Mercedes in the Motor Pool.

You have some nice vehicles!
As for the reclining rear seat on the SDL, my first one had this option, along with heated front and rear seats.
I looked at seven SDL's since last October and only found one that had this option, so from that very unscientific research, I would say that this is a rare option.
My replacement SDL does not have this option.
