New ML 500 Purchase

Hi,

I recently placed an order for a 2007 ML 500. The packages/options I selected included the PIII package and Distronic. The dealer indicated that the car would not be delivered until the end of April or the beginning of May. Just out of curiousity, I would like to hear about other people's experiences regarding delivery time. Is the approximate delivery date usually accurate?

One the size of the dealers allotment of ML's

Two that the vehcile you ordered, had to be produced, and by the time it gets into the system and into production, then on a transporter and to your dealership would probably take about that amount of time.

If there was such a vehicle out there that was not spoken for, your dealer probably could do a dealer trade (but there is not as much money in dealer trades as direct orders)

I am no expert on auto dealerships, but that is what I have picked up from my friends that do work at dealerships.

I love my old ML, and we are considering a new one, so this is interesting info.

Thanks, and I'm glad to hear that you love your ML. :) I think the delay is mainly because the dealer's last batch order from MB had already been completed to the point where the cars in that batch could not be altered to fit my specifications. Perhaps the options/packages I ordered also had something to do with it. I guess I'll just have to wait it out.
