I just repaced my Transmission Vacuum Control Valve on my 85'300SD and now my air condtioning isn't working. I checked all the hoses and I don't see anything detatched. It's not that nothing is cold or hot coming out it's just not blowing anymore. I actually did find some cracked hoses and replaced them but that didn't do anything.

Is the cabin air blower running?

No, it's not.
My problem is I really don't know what I'm doing. I can do very basic stuff. You tell me "this is whats wrong" and I can fix it but if I have no idea whats going on I'm stumped.

Open the hood.
Locate the fuse box on the drivers side near the firewall.
In front of the fuse box is what looks like a rectangular shaped connector.
It has wires at both ends.
The top of it is a cover.
Lift up the cover.
Under the cover is a lead ribbon fuse held in place by #2 phillips head screws.
Remove the fuse.
Handle it gently.
Does it look like anything you want to put back in your car?
If not, don't.
Simply replace it.
Did this fix your problem?

I asked that you remove the ribbon fuse to inspect it. This particular type of fuse may look good when snugged down in its holder, but falls apart when removed.
If you are certain that it is good, I will take your word for it. Now you will need to break out the electrical service portion of your manual and troubleshoot the 12VDC going to the fan.
If present, probable bad fan. If not, probable bad something else.
One other possibility before you dive in. Key on, engine off, fan on, wiggle key back and forth slightly. If fan comes on, replace ignition switch (electrical portion).
robert , great advice, logical and practical, next would be the control unit which is know to be the culprit, can be done by cleaning and or replacing it.
