What exactly is the question, and what kind of car? I'm thinking maybe a gasoline powered smart car? And the check engine light came on, and you want to know why?
Regardless, the first step is to read out the fault codes, and we can go from there.

Thanks Don. Yes gasoline For Two(smart cariolet, passion model)
I happen to work at the Mercedes dealership in my town(jackson, MS) but do not believe we have a way to read codes on Smart. Is it the same computer? I have only had to change the oil and filter(so far) ANY IDEAS?

The smart stuff isn't normally available to MB dealers - it's a separate franchise, like Buick or Honda. I think the MB Tech Specialists have SDS machines with smart on it - call yours & ask if he could pretty please bring it next time he visits....
To read the codes with a generic reader you'd need US type emissions (Canada & Japan are the same), dunno about yours, but worth a try. Maybe SDS will go in under another model, if you don't try to do a quick test and the cars have the same kind of engine control (ME, HFM, whatever). Worth a try i think.
Obviously new tires shouldn't turn on the light, but it could literally be anything at this point. Check around the wheels for anything loose (like a hose or what), otherwise drive it for a few days, sometimes codes reset themselves.

The USA STARs do NOT have Smart/Trucks programs like the Euro Stars have ...
As I tried it and the smart is NOT on the Menu on the USA Star aka SDS
Thats Why I Had to purchase a Euro SDS to work on my Smarts..Without it Its Not Going to be easy....
Go to a Autozone and have them read out the fault code....
BTW did you change the Rims? or Tire Dia?
As I did have a ABS code when I installed the BRABUS 16x6 and 17x9s on my for two....

thanks Mark. The light went out the next day. I ALWAYS freak out too easy. Am looking forward to us(hopefully) getting the SMART brand next year. Then I can breathe a little easier. Have a good day in Cally.
