Hi fella's. I've learned a lot looking at these forums, but I can't find any information on the current problem at hand.

Currently I have a 89 300 SE. It is great. Unfortunatley, I mistakenly tried cleaning snow off of the windshield with the wipers. As you can guess, one of the wiper motors was stripped out and now I have no wiper coverage for the driver field of vision. I've removed all the Clips and seals for the heater intake, But I can not for the life of me remove the wiper arms to remove the plastic grating to get to the motors on the wipers.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Jefre

Also, If this helps diagnose the problem, the broken wiper can be pushed or pulled through it's complete range of motion, where the other wiper is firmly in place and only moves when the wipers are activated.

Thanks.

The metal caps at the wiper arm axles have flip-up covers; flip them up to access the nuts that are loosened to remove the arms. Mark their position on the linkage before removing them.

To get to the motor, you need to remove that air grille cover, starting with the arms (take off the blade on the right), grommets (around the axles) firewall seal, clips on the front edge, tree nails in the cover (pry up on the 'head'), and windshield seal. Pull up the cover starting at front left.

Motor replacement is as per attached. You might just need a linkage grommet, but you won't know until you get it apart.

Yay. Turns out when I got those caps off I had a loose nut on the end of one wiper. No replacement necessary.

Thanks for the help though.
