Yesterday I attended a Tech Session, sponsored by our primary MB dealer in the area (Aristocrat Motors). It was one of the best MBCA-related events of the century, IMO, and apparently they do it every year. They shut down the entire service department--a huge operation--for the entire day, and turn over their SM, SAs, and Techs to us. They put our cars on a lift and do a complete inspection inside and out. They perform a complete MB Service Clinic Inspection Report, which includes many General indicators, Engine compartment checks, Engine component/system condition checks, Undercarriage/drive train checklist, Electrical system and function test, Chassis/body checks, and a Road Test. They also gave us a free Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) Report on our cars as well as a free MB pen and heat-resistant coffee mug for our cars. But the real pièce de résistance was a world-class BBQ lunch for everyone, prepared by our SM Jim Schmidt who has won many contests--which is saying something in this KC area! It was an incredible day and I cannot thank Aristocrat Motors and our Section people enough!

This is something other section officers and dealers should look into.

Our dealer also gives us a full 15% discount on all parts and labor, if we are members of MBCA!

It was nice to hear a good story about Aristocrat. Before moving to JC, Mo. I lived in KC and bought my first 300 CD from them when they were downtown. I really liked the way they treated me. I have been to their new location a couple of times, but I understand it has changed ownership. I will have to come over and bring my 560SL for an oil change. They even have most of the service records on this car, from the previous KC owner. Mac

I bought my first car from them too when they were downtown. A new 280SL in 1970. And my last one, an S500/W220/2000. They are great and their new location is a huge and very modern set of buildings. They are under new ownership, but I think their service has actually improved--substantially. They also handle Porche, Jag, Land Rover, and Saab now. And they do a complete Mobile 1 oil change for only $59.95! Plus a 27 point check of your car. It would be worth the drive up from JC...
