Concours d'Elegance--4/20, 21, 22 2007, Jekyll Island, GA
You are invited to participate in a wonderful, exciting, fun-filled and educational ALL Mercedes weekend. (see below) There will be an MBCA National Concours Judging School taught by Pete Lesler, chair of the National Concours Committee plus an all Mercedes Concours to show off your baby, two dinners and a brunch. You can participate in as many of the events as you wish. If interested, I will e mail you a registration form. FRIDAY, April 20 9 AM-3 PM
National Concours Judging School
Take this rare and wonderful opportunity to learn from the BEST. We are proud to have National Treasurer and National Concours Committee Chair, Pete Lesler teach the course himself. Be a future Judge, judge the next day's Concours or just find out the "secrets" to have your car be a winner. Find out what the Judges look for.
We will have a spacious, comfortable conference room at the Marriott Courtyard, Brunswick that will be set up classroom-style. There will be morning coffee etc. and lunch will be served from 12-1. This is an intensive, comprehensive all-day school. The learning experience is invaluable. Attendance fee is $50 and includes lunch. We will offer 50% discounts for former 2004 STAR CARS School participants who feel a "little rusty" and would like to brush up.
ALL SECTIONS ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE TAKE THIS TRAINING BACK WITH YOU AND USE IT FOR YOUR EVENTS.

SATURDAY, April 21, 11 AM-3 PM.... A SE Regional Charity Concours d'Elegance for Mercedes-Benz automobiles of any year
Brought to you by Southern Stars Section MBCA.
The Charity is Hospice and proceeds will be donated in the nameof the late founder of the Mercedes-Benz Club and fellow Southern Star, Dr. Milton Allen.
This show is open to ALL Mercedes owners.
You do NOT have to be a MBCA member to enter.
Mercedes from all over the Southeast will be converging on beautiful and historic Jekyll Island for this first class event. Cars will be displayed all around the "Millionaire's Village" Historic Landmark District. Cars will be grouped into Judged or Display classes. Judged classes will be judged by graduates of the Concours Judging School. Pete Lesler will be the Chief Judge. Display classes will be People's Choice. Cost for displaying a car is $35 for the first car and $25 for each additional car. Cars in the Judged Classes will be judged on strict MBCA guidelines, including engine compartment and trunk but not chassis.

We want this to be a FUN event for everyone. Car not quite perfect? Doesn't matter...come anyway and put your car in the Display Class.....no rules; judged by the People. There will be lots of awards, including some "fun" prizes: highest mileage, traveled farthest etc. There will also be some sponsor awards.
This is a "bring the whole family" event. There will be competitions for all age children: MB pedal car and MB radio control car races with great prizes. There will be sponsor's demo booths, raffles, goody bags from various other sponsors, refreshment concessions and Mercedes dealer's displays and demos.
Cars can start arriving at 9:00 AM and judging will begin PROMPTLY at 11 AM, with the AWARDS CEREMONY being at the evening Dinner.
SATURDAY, April 21, 5 PM.... AWARDS DINNER
DINNER will be at Morgan's Grill, overlooking the Jekyll Island golf course, Cocktails (open bar) 5 PM with door prizes and raffles and the Awards presentations followed by Dinner at 7PM.
Dress will be very casual and dinner will be thick prime NY strip steaks cooked over charcoal, baked potatoes with all the fixings, salad and dessert (key lime and pecan pie) and soft drinks. $35pp (includes tax and gratuity)
(if you do not want steak, they will prepare an 8oz chicken breast to order, but you must let me know in advance)
SUNDAY, April 22, 10:45 AM....fabulous Victorian Champagne Brunch at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel $39pp includes a champagne or mimosa, tax and gratuity
Spouse or significant other not a "car person"? There's so much to do on Jekyll Island. Here's just a sampling: horse-drawn carriage or motorized tram tours of the historic Landmark District, 63 holes of golf on 4 courses, Summer Waves Water Park, miles and miles of unspoiled beach, Jekyll Museum, dolphin cruises, special 4H programs for children ages 5-12, 20 miles of paved bike paths skirting the ocean as well as winding through the inner island's natural habitats, bike rentals galore, DNR guided sea turtle walks to view the nesting loggerhead turtles, horseback riding on the beach and through the maritime forests, tennis courts, mini golf, Tidelands Nature Center with aquarium exhibits featuring fish, turtles, alligators, and other animals native to coastal Georgia and touch tanks with hermit crabs, whelks, and other marine life and more, kayaking, canoeing, birding and coastal marsh tours.
