I would like to replace the driveshaft intermediate bearing and flex discs on my 1985 300TD. The factory manual makes it look pretty difficult. Anyone have any experience with these procedures? Are they DIY or better left to the shop? Does this require complete removal of the driveshaft? I do not have any special tools but I have a good set of standard tools.

Thanks in advance,

Will

Flex discs are easy with normal tools (you may need to grind down the short leg on a hex wrench in order to make the tight fit). I took my wagon to my favorite Indy to let them do the bearing and its carrier - money well spent due to the time saved and knowing it was done right.
