I recently purchased my 2004 E320 Wagon, and I am troubled by the low beams at night. The left side just seems to have a dark spot as if the left light is too low. But I took it to my local dealer and they checked it out and said all the lights were perfectly adjusted and working just fine. (The high beams are fine, reaching out like they should) I've owned a couple of C240's before this car, and I do not remember the low beams as so low. Has anyone else had trouble with this? Is it easy to adjust the beams to bring them up a little bit?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I guess I don't know. :) I would say they are "stock" headlamps, at least as I would see them on other '04's. I just checked my manual and I see no indication of "HID."

The NON Hid Headlights are Not that great ...(Even When Adjusted)

Time to UPGRADE the Headlights to The OE MB Xenons Either US or Euro

I Added the Active Euro Xenons to my Wifes 2006 W211 HUGE Difference!

Contact Steve @www.mbenznl.com for Prices

Thanks, Mark. Were you able to do that yourself, or did you have your local dealer do it?

Thanks,
Tom

T, you're going to need to determine which headlights you have. I believe the HIDs will have self-leveling. I know with some cars only the dealer can adjust the height via ECU interface. HIDs have the distinct blue/purple color. On my 1999 car, which is HID equipped, there is small HIGH VOLTAGE warning label on the cross member under the hood.

Adjustment is fairly simple if you have the traditional headlights. I know it's covered in the Owner's Manual. Some add'l info here:

I Did them Myself as I was a MB Tech..Its a SIMPLE Item to replace
Unless You want the ACTIVE feature ...Then a Wire harness and Level switch must be added...But Yes it can be done...I Did the Wifes W211

The Local Dealers say it cant be Done...(IF) it was NOT built with it.....

The Headlights are VERY Simple to do...Hardest part is the front bumper removal about 10 min...Then a Trip to the Dealer to version code the car to Xenon Present via the SDS...Unless One has there Own Star ..Then NO Trips to the dealer:D

Most Techs cannot even locate The Xenon present in Version Code program....

We have added a few Items to the Wifes W211...its almost done

Active Euro Xeons with corner lights
Euro front impact inserts
Parktronic
Distronic
Power folding mirrors with Euro Convex glass
Euro Comand
MB Tv Tuner
Heated wood / leather Steering wheel with Leather air bag
Tire pressure monitor system
E55 Bumpers side skirts
E 55 Quad Exhaust
E 55 Brakes Front And rear
AMG Multipiece 19 inch rims (SL65)
E 55 grill
Euro door pins
LED tail lights
Voice control (VCS)
Interior Motion sensor
Euro clam shell center console
Blue tooth Puc Phone kit
AMG E55 Sway bars
H/K sound
Front seats with Heat/ vented/multicontour/drive dynamic/massage

It may be simple, but it's $3000.

Yeah, I kind of figured that. :(

Anyway, thanks for the information, group. I appreciate it. I will get a more comprehensive manual for the car and figure out how to raise the beams I have just a touch.

Look For a Copy of WIS for the Tech Info as MB does Not produce a Manual (In Paper) for The W211 The WIS has ALL The Info for ANY Service/Repair item
