Does anyone here know of resources for parts and labor to modify 1997-99Mercedes turbo-diesels to extract more torque and HP?
I want to purchase a used diesel and then either modify it myself and/or find some high-performance garage that is experienced in this kind of work.
Thanks for any leads you might be able to provide.

I want a bio-diesel high-performance sports sedan.

well you can check ebay or some local parts stores.. junk yards is also an options. there are tons of mercedes performance parts (http://www.mbpartswarehouse.com/mercedes_performanceparts.html) in the market that you can choose from. It would really depend on which kind you want and the $$$ you wanna spend on it. good luck.. :)

There are two basic things you can do with your turbo diesel: Turn up the boost, and change the exhaust. Either one will cost $$$ and turning up the boost will shorten the life of your engine if you keep your boot stuffed in it most of the time.
Find someone (top notch shop) who really knows turbo diesels. Otherwise you'll have a real mess on your hands. Hot rod Mercedes turbo diesels are very rare. In fact, I've never see or heard of one in all the years I've been dealing with hot street cars, race cars and rally cars.

Good luck. You'll need it.

I think AMG offered a europe only CDI in a Sport Coupe. I believe it was scrapped due to lack of sales/interest.

Turning up the boost in itself will not damage you car, doing so with out additional inter cooling will. Check out what the Finns have done with OM60X's on youtube, there are some pretty decent power plants. It basically comes down to a fairly capable VNT/VGT turbo and matched computer management.
