Trip Computer Problem

Just bought a Star Mark 2001 ML 320 with 15,000 miles. Am loving it. Just noticed that the trip computer doesn't work on the "miles left in tank". It does a strange count down thing. Is there a reset for this when the vehicle is filled or is this supposed to be an auto reset matter?

I notice that on my '98 - it gives miles - until it is about 1/4 tank then it flashes "low fuel." A friend's '99 explorer tells you to the gallon and mile how much you have left. I have not found the ML's that useful except for the overall MPG reading.

Hi The trip computer on the MLS have been updated and modified so many times and its still not right.joeym

I hit the reset button at each fill up for the trip odometer and for the celing console computer - it seems to be about right on the mpg for my ML.
