Hi All
Due to my bad back and busy schedule and the unsightly look of brake dust on my wheels. I am going to buy some brake pads for the 94E320sedan and the E320cabriolet. What is the Best brand that money can buy? Thanks. Happy driving.

Mooney,
You did not mention any specific characteristics you were looking for, so that just gets you choices.
Want the most expensive, get Porterfield. They should have something way, way up there in price. The factory uses Textar, Jurid and Pagid with a special blend of pad material for the U.S. and several other markets. Even saw 2 stories about wood brake pads. One was a guy from Tennessee the other was a knockoff manufacturer in China. Would like to have seen either one of these cars coming down Afton Mountain here in Virginia, after dark, with all 4 wheels blazing. Some of the pros recommend Texstar which should be available aftermarket. If you want a pad with less dust, that is a whole nother bolsa de gatos (bag of cats), as my latino friends would say.
Other readers with more knowledge and experience, may have some other ideas.

The brake dust is my main concern. It's been 10 years now and I am just tired of cleaning the dust off the wheels.Thanks.

Call Hanson and order some OEM pads. As far as the dust is concerned, I've been washing brake dust off since I was a kid and still doing it. I don't think twice about it, 'cause its just part of life when you have a Benz. The fun of driving it far overrides the dust.

Avoiding brake dust is like trying to avoid bathing daily. Just really seems inevitable. The consequences on not doing either is more than effort of the cleaning.

The Axxiss or PBR Deluxe brake pads will do wonders. It has for me at least. Throwing out a suggestion. I am not affiliated with Axxiss or PBR in any way just as a satisfied consumer.

I have the PBR Deluxes on my car now and although braking performane is excellent the dusting is equivalent to my OE pads I had been using for the last two years. I did notice though that the PBR dust doesn't stick to the wheels as easily as the OE pad dust so it is easier to get the wheels clean. Note you still need to bend down and wipe off the wheels, a high pressure wash won't do the job.
Joe,
I'd suggest looking at Griots products (www.griotsgarage.com) for a very low creeper type seat. This will save your back and make it much easier to clean your wheels and the lower cladding on your cars. Wish there was an easier solution but sometimes you need to think outside the box.
