I have a 1989 300e and I love the car but it's getting tight since, my wife and I have a new additions to our family. I considering an S-class but would like to stay in years 1988-1994. Any suggestions, as to which years to stay away from and as always I thank you in advance!

My wife drives a1995 E 300D and I drive a 1987 300SDL. I have been researching and looking at newer S class cars lately. If you can live with a 1988 S Class you can likely live with an 86 - 91. These are all fine cars, however, my personal experience is with the deisel engine. Stay away from the 350SDL. It can be a heart and pocketbook breaker. The only later model I am considering is the 95 S300. It has the tried and true straight six gasoline engine that powers many Mercedes cars. It has plenty of power, even for the size of the car.
