Ferdman;
I'm sorry about steering you wrong; the Web site I believe was www.autoweek.com
I browsed that one and it's so large I couldn't find the report if that is the right site.
I also browsed www.zymol.com to see if they had a similar report but couldn't find one.
Perhaps another member so the program and could steer us to the right site.
I recall they were officed in Owensmill, Maryland.

Howdy All;
I made a boo boo when I made an error in the Web Site Address.
It is from Auto Week an the correct address is:
www.gurureports.org
Here is what is stated in the Julu 12, 2004 issue.
"PUBLIC NOTICE-WAX TEST SPECIAL REPORT"
The most comprehensive Autowax test ever conducted.
Meguiars, Zymol, Mothers, Malm's, Zaino, Groit's, & 40 more.
52 pages of Test Comparisons. Car Protection, Waxing Tips,
& more.(866) 893 9852 or www.gurureports.org
I purchased a copy; cost $12.95 including postage.
I hope this will settle the question in my mind;
What is the best wax.
But we all will make our own choice!

D.L.

Frankly, the Meguairs No. 26 you recommended to me on another thread gave me a better shine than Zymol. Also, if I believed my car were subject to acid on the finish from the environment, I would want to wash it with an alkaline wash ---- and most car wash solutions are alkaline.

And, as to the price of waxes, the No. 26 I bought was actually $2.00 MORE than the same size of Zymol I bought. But it was worth it!

Thanks,
Richard:) :) :)

dolebludger;
Richard,
Just because a report says the high price spread is the best is no reason for us to jump on the bandwagon.
I'll continue to use old 26 and my clay bar.
Here's looking at you kid.

And also, my problem is not a worry about environmental acids getting on the finish of my cars and truck. To the contrary, it is alkaidic damage that I worry about here. Our Oklahoma soil is very alkaline, so the dust is also. Our tap water with which I must wash cars has a ph of around 8.5 (pretty alkaline). Actually, I would like to find a car wash detergent that is slightly acidic, to counteract this. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard:) :) :)

dolebludger;
I use Bluecoral carwash; not knowing what the ph is.
I bought it because it was on sale.
With ole 26 me and my paint are happy.
Bye the bye 26 here in Spring is $2.00 less than Z.$10.95 to $12.95.

Richard, try some Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash. Not sure of the ph, but it does a fine job and is relatively inexpensive ... $9.95 a gallon locally. Previously I used Griot's Garage Car Wash which costs $29.95 a gallon. I heartily recommend the Griot's Garage Wash Bucket and Boar's Hair Brush.
