123 owners;
After 277K miles things wear out.
I had a vibration at 65mph.
It was found that all motor mounts and engine shock absorbers were shot. Not bad for the distance.
In addition I had all tie rod ends, steering stabilizer replaced; and front end aligned.
How sweet it is.
I had forgottened how nice it used to be.

I had the lower ball joints, bushings and steering stabilizer replaced at 150K, Don. Then the alignment was done. The car had been pulling to the right consistently prior, now it's driving straight as an arrow.

After the 277k miles the lower ball joints and suspension bushing are great.
The life of these suspension parts are directly related to tire balance.
I faithfully have my tires balanced and rotated every 5000 miles or as close as possible to that.
This service is provided by Discount Tire and NTB at no additional cost with the purchase of new tires.
Just good luck I guess.

What can I say?
A hint at no charge.
Don't try and turn your wagon into an expressway rocket.
70mph is fast enough; watch how far ahead these road rockets get when you pass them when they make a fuel pit stop and you just merrily go your way.
Remember on tire pressure that lets you burn up the mountainous curves; how many are there in comparison to straight Interstate driving. Your tires not only give you the ride and handling you want but they also absorb the road shock from your suspension. Tires are less expensive than ball joints and shocks.
Just a thing for thought.

or think (that is my duty as Skip#2). But I must say that I rather enjoy being a road "rocket" at 75 mph. That speed is very comfortable now, with the valves adjusted, the oil changed, the tires rotated and re-balanced.
You are so right about the type of driving we all do. 99 44/100% of our driving is straight ahead or slight curves. I'm certainly not entering doing any Lemans24-type driving with hairpin turns!
I keep my PSIs +2 lbs to the fuel flap (F34, R38)
Got 27+ mpg from my last two fills...not too bad for a 5,000 lb vehicle (including 230 lbs of driver)!
It's against my religion to buy new boats, houses, or cars. THe Ghost was well-cared-for by her previous owner. I plan to take care of her for the next twenty years
