I am re-posting this message from the general forum. I asked about an LED upgrade for the dash lights. Grey Ghost suggested Mercedessource. However, all I could find were xenon bulbs. I can't imagine they are any cooler than stock incandecents. The clear plexi is melted and burned brown and the cluster plastic is melted, allowing the dash lights to bleed into the turn signal pockets. I did a temporary repair with shiny aluminum duct tape. I would rather not buy a new cluster and used ones are probably burned also. Any ideas?
Also, my wife and daughter are relatively short. With the drivers seat all the way forward the right outside mirror will not adjust in far enough to see properly. The mirror body is in the correct detent location. The mirror will adjust in until it sounds like it is stripping gears. Anyone else had this situation? Thanks in advance. Richard

any one else have a power 123 miror over 90,000 miles that works? All I've ever seen don't work to my satifaction. Lack of lubing I guess. Re: dash lights, I have found some minor descrepancy here. Both 2w and 3w bulbs have been recommended and sold to me by the dealer. Never a melt problem. Like so many others, I've wanted brighter bulbs too. In one car I put 5w bulbs in, and yes, the heat melted the white blinker/signal indicators next door.

I would recommend the proper wattage, and if not happy address the dimmer pot on the back of the cluster assmebly. These pots are one the "ten" things on a 123 that always fail eventually. Cheap, easy, proper fix. After that.... I just deal.

I hope I addressed what you wanted

Regards,

Vince

Thanks vlayton. I am going to play around with some LEDs. I will be interested to see how they will dim with the stock dimmer. I will keep you informed. Any one else had right rear mirror travel loss?

Get a convex mirror glas for the right mirror and that should solve the problem.
