Have you read your newest Starr Mag?
Whoa is Weezes the one twenty threezes.
Look in the classifieds and you will find not one 300d.
It appears as if no one wants them; must be UNDESIREABLE!

Just received my STAR yesterday. I see (on page 16) a picture of the stern of Alan Funkhouser's 300D. Alan served in many capacities for the MBCA, long before the advent of "forums." He was being awarded the M-B "Silver Star" by the current MBCA president, Richard Simonds.
As far as cars for sale, I'm always scanning the ads to see nice 123 wagons. I joked (in one of the threads) that I was going to subscribe to Don Swinford's local paper so his beloved Donka found a good home when he went to meet his Maker. I'd love to have a well-loved 123 sedan for my wife.
As you all know, I just love the styling of the 123s, both sedan and wagon. When I was growing up, my mom told me to treat every piece of clothing I owned as if it were the ONLY piece of clothing I owned (she grew up in the Depression). I took that advice to heart and take great pride in keeping ALL of my gear in the best condition possible (including GG). A well-kept older car says more to me about its owner than the latest, most expensive new car.
I always wave to the drivers of well-kept 123s as if they're family members and scowl at the drivers of clapped-out 123s (for shame)

But thank The Lord you're screwed onto the right bolt; J.C. and 123s.

zak;
In my opinion the 123 is the tops and anything else is second rate and has no CHARACTER!

Hi Gray Ghost, You mentioned you were looking for a good 123 sedan. Well, Hatch & Sons in Wayland, MA has been advertising a 300D sedan with 35,000 or so miles on it for a month or so. I think it's a 1979 model if I remember the ad correctly. They advertise in the STAR I think & in our Minuteman messenger.
Their phone # is 508-358-3500 & their email is Hatchmb@aol.com
Hatch does a really good rebuild job on Benz's among others but they get top dollar as a result. They have a good selection of older cars usually. good luck getting a 123 for your wife
Al in MA w/Manfried in no moshun @ 125,300 :) :D :cool: ;)
