I have a 1994 E320 Cabrio and need to remove the seat back of the passenger side seat (to repair the mechanism that raises and lowers the headrest). Does anyone have any experience in removing the seat back? I know there are two screws on the bottom, but after removing these I still can not get the back off. I don't want to damage it by forcing anything so I thought I would ask for help.

Thanks!

You got the 2 outer bolts. Now remove the one in the middle and lift the seat back off its hangers.

Where are the two outer bolts (and the one in the middle) located. I am not with the car right now, but I only recall the two screws on the bottom of the seat back.

Thanks!

OK, so what do I know about convertibles. The book says there are 2 screws holding the back in place. Lower the armrest. Behind the top of the opening, if you pull the material aside, are the 2 screws. Remove the screws and pull up. Proceedure is in 91-0767 of the Mercedes CD.
