With our fall/winter months with us, how smooth DONKA II, my 300td becomes.
I don't depend upon my Automatic Climate Control to cycle the ON/OFF of the A/C compressor.
I use the little "ECO" function switch.
Most days the outside temp here in Spring Texas is 60 or less; and that in it's self is quite chilly.
You still have the thermostat temp control to increase above the outside temp so you aren't loosing anything.
Other benefits are: improved fuel effeciency, more excelleration and easier cruising with less throttle to maintain your 100+mph(haha)
I try to remember to cycle the compressor at least once a week by running in full auto.
If you that do this ain't it sweeet?
For those who haven't; Try it you'll ENJOY and add more CHARACTER by enjoying the smooooothness of our beloved 5 legged baby.

I have to AGREE with Skip#1 (Senor Spiderman, a.k.a. "The Chairman").

Ran my baby up to Boston last night and back down this morn'...70 mph on the cruise control, just humming along beautifully. No need for a/c in the Northeast no mo'. There IS a psychological boost to knowing that your five-banger's energy isn't being drained by the compressor.

If the seat was more comfortable, I could drive right down to Spring Texas so that the Grey Ghost and Donka (II) could meet. I'd certainly take some pointers from my kindly Uncle (Skip #1)

Good to have you back in the fold, El Chairman!

G.G.;
My 230 lb. hunk of sugar fits and sits comfortable in my seat.
Where in lies the problem?
Need new seat?
Find a good used one?
It doesn't make sense considerring the miles my seat has clocked and it still is great.
