Detailing, Dent Removal and Clear Armor Installs

Hey, just want to share that ADS in San Bruno, CA (Bay Area) did an outstanding job in my car.

Phil Wong (the owner) is a very hospitable and extremely detailed oriented fellow.

His shop does top-notch car detailing and dent removal as well as Clear Armor and other installs. He used to run that practice for Lexus and more recently opened his own business.

In my case, he did a complete car detail “free of charge” before the Clear Armor was applied. And all that (in my view) was not really needed because my car is still essentially new. Anyhow, he did that to ensure 100% that the install would be flawless and would be hardly noticeable. He was right!!!

Price-wise, he offered me the best deal that I was able to find in the whole Bay Area.

This is probably a stupid question, but what is Clear Armor?

Clear Armor is an 8-mil urethane film manufactured by 3M that is applied to cars to protect their factory paint/finish against chips, nicks, and scratches that occur while driving. Essentially, Clear Armor is an almost invisible protection layer that is added to hoods, bumpers, side mirrors, headlights and other high wear areas. Dealers charge well over $1,000.00 for this product/service. I found a place in Northern CA that does the same job using the same 3M materials and that gives the same 4 year warranty for a fraction of that. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information on Clear Armor. As I live about 2000 miles from northern California (I know, I used to live there) I doubt I can use your recommended shop. But it sounds like a good idea. Do you have any pics you can post?
