new low sulfur diesel

Supposedly as of some time in 2006, the govt has mandated new low sulfur (for lower emissions) fuel. Newer diesels (MB CDI and VW 2004 & newer TDI) are already made to use this fuel. Can anyone expound on what will be necessary to do to our 615/616/617 engines to enable the use of this fuel?
