I was at the dealer on Friday and noticed they are selling OPTIMUM CAR WAX. Is that spray on wax any good? I am used to the old fashion way of using a DA polisher to apply polish and wax.

I've been using Meguiar's for cleaning/polishing and use Mother's pure carnuba paste was for the final step.

Don't know that much about all the newer products out, but will be eager to learn more at StarTech! :)

For what it's worth, I've found that all spray on waxes are good only as "refreshers" after a wash, when the car already has a good conventional wax job on it. But, they are very good for this limited purpose. Personally, I like Eagle One Wax as U dry for this.

Thanks,
Richard :) :) :)

I have some optimum and it's actually pretty good to use as a weekly refresher wax. It's incredibly easy to use, just spray on and wipe off. You could use it as your only wax but I wouldn't

Well, the BMW club swears by it, so I bought some. They told me that it will be the future of wax you do not need any other wax. Now if it ever stops raining, I will try it out.

Hemm, the Meguiar's Gold Class Wax is liquid. So which liquid wax is easier to put on? Optimim is because you just spray and wipe.

So I may do the following plans. I think I like plan B better.

Plan A
1. Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo
2. Polish with Meguiar's polish. Use a D/A polisher
3. Wax with Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Clear Coat Wax. Use a D/A polisher
4. Use OPTIMUM over the Gold Glass Wax.

Plan B
1. Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo
2. Use OPTIMUM Wax.

I am sold on Optimum Car wax. I was not a believer until I wax my car with it.

Check out my wax job.

Did any one see the reflection off the trunk of my new cedar fence?

As I've got to go to my local MB dealer this week, I will check and see if they sell Optimum --- and will try it if it is not too pricey.

I made an error in my post above. My favorite spray on polish SO FAR is NOT Eagle One Wax-as U dry. It is Eagle One Wet Wipe & Shine. I've not tried Optimum yet, but have tried a "boat load" of these products. Added to a good wax job, a rub down with Eagle One Wet Wipe & Shine gives me a finish I can shave in! So when I try Optimum, it will have some real competition.

Thanks,
Richard :) :) :)

It is only $14.95 from Alisa. I purchase from Alisa because she does tech sessions for our club. Go here for info.
