I'm attempting to replace my grill and bumper for a 1989 300e. What's involved and should try to do this job or find a body shop? Thanks in advance!
It's a DIY . . bumper and grill are held in with bolts and nuts.

Kwame69, the grill is fastened with 6 screws ... 2 are readily visible and the other 4 are along the underside of the grill through the lip of the hood into the back of the grill. A 5/16" nut driver or socket fits the screws.
If you're replacing the bumper due to an accident it may be more involved than simply unbolting the old one and rebolting the new one in place. It's likely that some of the support members are bent and require straightening or replacement. A body shop would be best for that type work unless you're very handy and experienced with metal work.
