A/C compressor 1985 300D

My wonderful repair guy cannot find a compressor for my A/C. The old one seized up.
Any hints where I might find one ? MANY thanks. The forum's advice on fuel filters and tank strainer were right on.

$110 rebuilt or $180 new at Auto Zone. Same Factory Air product most shops buy.

$300 at Performance Products and a heck of a lot more if you buy from the dealer.

Sometime during the 123 era, a changeover was made from York to DELCO compressors. Is this the problem your mechanic is having? If you can't find a York, get a DELCO and buy used brackets at a junk yard or an aftermarket source. You are working with a Mercedes mechanic aren't you?

Robert, thankks for info. Mr. Sun ( Medford Mass) is not a mercedes mechanic,,,just a really good ( DEDICATED REALLY) guy. Sometime I have a language problem as he's Korean. I live in Waltham MA ( 02451) and will seek out non-dealer mercedes person.
