I got my car back from the body shop. I was very please with the work of the body shop except for the fact that I got some slimy gritty stuff all over the wood on my center console. The dealer and the body shop said it was the best that they can do. They were afraid of rubbing too hard because the wood may get scratch. I was about to get the insurance company to replace the wood trim, until I got a bright idea.

I decided to clay the wood trim. The clay got off all the slimy and gritty stuff. My wood is as smooth as glass. I did not believe clay would take off the mess on the wood, but it did.

I do not use tar/bug remover anymore or wipe hard on the paint to remove bake on stuff. I just clay and the junk and it comes off easy. Clay is also safer on the paint.

Detailing clay will work great on glass too.

Detailing clay is truly great. It works well (with 303 as the lubricant) on leather and MB Tex. We took a road trip with our little dogs, who , from time to time have to be walked to relieve themselves. On one such time, the little dogs got their paws dirty in the red clay dirt that exists around here. So, naturally, the car interior had red clay stained paw prints on the leather seats and on the MB Tex window sills. Dogs always have to put their front paws on the window sills and look out the windows and pant. Don't know why. Must be a dog thing.

Anyway, this red clay is nasty stuff. A bunch of cleaners failed to get it all out. But a quick rub-down with clay with 303 as the lube got it all out quickly.

Claybar is the best cleaner of which I know. Those who fail with it either have (1) imperfections imbedded in the paint or other surfaces, or (2) most commonly, aren't using a sufficient amount of lube. For non-imbedded cleaning and using a generous amount of lube, it cannot be beaten!

Thanks,
Richard
